I’m Always Wary of Extremists and Their Views
It’s a fine balancing act between the ego and ones higher self
Saturday, it’s cold and I’m not feeling to great but I have to go into town because I have a problem with my mobile phone. I walk by a guy standing motionless behind a sign, handing out business cards to which I say; “no thanks”.
Phone dropped off, replacement in pocket, walk by guy the guy behind the sign again, he offers me a business card again, I stop and take a double take. Hmnnnnn what are you selling dude I ask. At which point the guys goes into an over the top Baptist hard sell theme, explaining that god is very angry, not just angry but very, very angry indeed.
I let the guy rattle on for about 2 or 3 minutes and then I stop him and say; “to be honest I love passion, can’t stand dogma, if you won’t to win hearts dude drop the anger and try a little bit more love”.
At that point a guy from the wings approaches and asks; “which church are you two from because I’m getting a calling” whilst continually looking at me. Baptist guy tells him which church he worships at, whilst the guy keeps looking at me, but I say absolutely nothing.
Guy from the wings leaves the scene promptly, Baptist guys says; “isn’t it strange how those things happen”, I reply; “not at all they happen all the time, all one needs is to be open and receptive”.
Baptist guys then says; “where were we at?” I say; “I was just about to bid you good day” at which point Baptist guy says hope to see you church one day soon. I smile and simply say to the guy; “in your dreams, but please do explore the root cause of your anger and when you’ve found and dealt with it perhaps we can have a real conversation, until then softy, softly does it dude, yes?”.
Okay here’s the dilemma; did I drift into my own ego and think the guy from the wings was actually attracted by my energy, o yes got me hook line and sinker there. Fortunately my higher self played a vital blocking role there by stopping my ego from being consumed by the situation completely.
Was the guy from the wings actually a stooge all part of a very clever game, who knows? But as I ran the script over again whilst walking back to my car, it certainly felt that way to me. But hey who knows, all I know is that the incident intrigued, stimulated and amused me and put a slightly different twist upon a journey I’d rather not have had to make. So there you go, there’s always something new for us to candidly explore, even when simply participating in run of the mill tasks.
Authors Concluding Notes
I think the moral of this experience is that when the ego is in play, it’s all to easy to ignore one’s higher self. That’s why learning the balance between accepting and overriding its divine intervention, takes many years to perfect. I’m certainly well short of where I’d like to be, right now, still work in progress I’d say.
Is god angry? Well as far as I’m concerned god isn’t angry, for if he was than there would be no love or light at all in this world. I think the thing we must remember when exploring the god force with fellow mortals is that it means some many things to many different kinds of peoples. Perhaps that’s where the anger originates from who knows?
All I know is; god is great, god is love and god is also very angry depending upon which mortal is explaining their belief structures to you. I personally don’t have a problem with anyones free will to believe in and what they choose to believe in. I do however get extremely nervous when their polarity of expression deviates greatly from where I want to be.
Okay where do you want to be dude you may ask. To which my answer would be; in a place where mutuality of intent is universally systemic and where love and peace balance out agitation and anger sublimely. For that is the aspirational god force I personally seek, a place where ones soul feels truly at home.
