Taking the stress out of stress

During the first world war there was a phrase coined to describe a condition suffered by many of the shattered men who managed to make it back home. That phrase was “shell shock” of which my great grandad George Farrelly suffered prior to his demob and what was left of his life upon his return from the front line. A condition colloquially referred to in his mining community as; “he’d run out of bravery”.

Today we know precisely what those poor and unfortunate men were actually suffering from, for they were suffering from nothing more than adrenal insufficiency aka oxidative stress. In that the noise, the conditions and the sheer scale of suffering and senseless brutality that they’d endured. Had quite simply burnt them out and therein; they were no longer able to cope.

Well fortunately I’ve never faced such horrors and therein I’m ever so grateful for that and moreover for the sacrifices made on my behalf by others which directly spared me from the same. However that isn’t to say that I haven’t suffered during my mortality because I’d be lying if I were to say or state that here. It’s just that my suffering has been on a completely different level of suffering to that experienced by gallant men such as my great granddad; George Farrelly’s generation. Nevertheless unnecessary suffering is unnecessary suffering regardless of the presenting circumstances that lead to it’s manifestation in our lives.

Thats precisely why you don’t have to go to war to have your life completely wrecked by adrenal insufficiency or oxidative stress etc. All you need is the right set of circumstances over a protracted period of time and as sure as god made little green apples. You too will burn your adrenals out, with all it’s overtly insidious consequences.

Such that these days in mainstream medicine, oxidative stress is often colloquially referred to as; “your suffering from depression, anxiety or indeed you’re suffering from a nervous breakdown etc”. When in truth the only empiricist issue that’s really taking place is ones adrenals inability to meet the cortisol production demands placed upon them. All brought about by a raft of; biological, environmental, economical and psychological issues and not simply the result of emotional lability issues.

That’s why I advise anyone suffering from possible symptoms of oxidative stress e.g. inability to cope, depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, headaches etc, etc, etc. To explore all the material out there on matters relating to adrenal function and adrenal insufficiency. Therein sparing themselves the possible insult of succumbing to an inappropriate clinical diagnosis and treatment rationale. Because let’s face it, who needs that sort of nonsense in their life?

Just so you know, there is a tremendous amount of smart literature out there created by pioneering endocrinologists which de-mystifies both the reasons for adrenal insufficiency and how it may be ameliorated effectively via appropriate treatment rationales.

Because theres one things for sure and that is in this busy world that we live in today, hoping for some time out to perhaps get on top of your stress condition simply isn’t going to happen. Whats more in my considered opinion buying into medical rhetoric which states that in consuming pharmacologically sponsored mental health care concoctions. We can somehow free ourselves forever of the insidious imposition of oxidative stress is simply noise for the sake of making noise.

Because of my own personal experiences I understand precisely what oxidative stress sufferers really need and that is smart medical and clinical support solutions that address the metabolic issues surrounding oxidative stress. Not simply packed off as basket cases with a prescription for the latest pharmacologically sponsored mental heath care drug and told to perhaps take up some counselling, exercise or yoga.

I guess that’s why I felt the need to document my struggles with stress. In particular its diagnosis and treatment in Raphael’s Legacy and Stress at Close Quarters. Simply because of the appalling way my condition was inappropriately treated for years. That being said; still the only mystery for me now in stress or in dealing effectively with stress. Is why our medical models continue to refuse to treat the root cause of stress. In preference to focusing upon treating the symptoms of stress to detriment of their patients well being in the majority of instances. Which in the 21st century I personally believe to be nothing more than an utter disgrace.

But hey; I’m happy for everyone to make their own mind up on that subject, simply because I believe in the divinity of free will. Amen

Authors Concluding Notes

I’m very conscious of a need to labour the point that when we’re ill we must always work with suitably qualified professional services providers. Of which I’m certainly not and therein simply a health issue commentator. Nevertheless we all have the choice about how we approach recovering from illness and therein what we’re prepared to believe in or indeed accept.

Such that if you’re currently struggling with oxidative stress and you’re happy to be written off with oxidative stress or indeed to have your condition blamed upon your weak psychology there’s nothing wrong with that.

But if you’re finding it hard to cope with oxidative stress and looking for some guidance on how to overcome oxidative stress. Then please, please do read up on adrenal insufficiency, adrenal testing and treatment rationales etc. Because there’s lots of help available out there. All I’d ever say is please, please, please ensure that you only ever work with a suitably qualified professional and never accept on face value testimonials or anecdotal articles such as this blog……okay!

Rebirth Through The Dark Night of Ones Soul

I’m very much aware of living in, with and through the metaphor called; the dark night of the soul, having spent 11 years in absolute mortal despair, I firmly believe that I am blessed to have some how survived my own. Yet the thing that really puzzles me and even gets right up my nose at times, is how easily some mortals like to suggest that they’re in the midst of the same even when they’re probably only experiencing some form of cursory everyday stress. Yet the death and rebirth than one experiences as a result of the dark night of the soul process is like no other experience that any mortal has ever encountered before and certainly not something that they will probably repeat in one life time. 

So let me be very clear here and I make no apology for this at all; living in or through a dark night of the soul is no club that I feel privileged to have been a part of having worked through my own. Neither is it anything that I can recommend as a must do in any mortals life passage curriculum vitae, such is the depravity of that hope sapping process.

You see; only those who have experienced such unbearable darkness and gut wrenching isolation during such torrid parts of their lives, truly understand the preposterous fragility of mortality in all of it’s majesty. Where sanity and the release from insanity are as far away from the incumbent than any innocent mortal has the capability to comprehend. Such is the wrath of this soul destroying and soul building conundrum.

I’m often asked how ones gets through ones own dark night of the soul and to be honest I don’t think any mortal can answer that question with any degree of assurance. For that is a place where nothing makes any sense and a place where the pits of despair simply consume the unfortunate on an almost minute by minute and week by week basis. Where the innocent or the fool desperately attempts to delude themselves into believing that things can’t possibly get any worse. Where each downward spiral into their own unique abyss of darkness, is simply eclipsed by the depravity of ever darker and ever deeper pits of despair further down the line.

Dark nights of the soul generally follow year upon year of despair and they arrive at that point where one faces up to ones own mortal fragility. It is that breaking point where one feels that they simply can’t take anymore and only those who have sat in that depraved place truly understand the isolation, the desperation and above all the heart wrenching sadness that engulfs ones entire reality.

The truth is I don’t know how I worked through my own dark night of the soul for my tools were nothing more than tenacity and a dogged determination to prove my critics wrong. A process in which a major part of me also consistently believed that we only get through such events in our lives if that’s what we’re here as mortals to do. Nevertheless I can tell you that many times as a mere mortal, my faith in my ability to see the process through simply evaporated with regularity every time a new challenging experience thrust itself upon me. I guess that’s why I lost my route map out, way back along the way and why in truth I think that’s easy to do when one is fighting for ones life; every second of every minute of every god awful day that we’re trapped in that place.

One thing for sure is that giving everything up to the universe was not a way of being or a way out of my despair that I could buy into at all. So much so that I frequently lost the plot with people articulating such rhetoric to me or quoting extracts from nonsensical books at my points of critical mass. Simply because I take such views as a complete and utter kop-out, disrespectful and uneducated view of what the sufferer is actually experiencing and hence simply a bastardisation of spiritual surrender. But more than that I find it highly insulting and whats more its my opinion that only an ignorant would use such statements to a fellow mortal in the midst of a physical, emotional and spiritual breakdown.

So much so that as some one who survived his own torrid dark night of the soul, I can nevertheless relate to the sense of isolation that many of my kindred souls find themselves dealing with right now. That’s why and in the greater part I have now turned my back on professional engineering etc, and therein spend my time helping people through they’re own dark night of the soul where I can. Simply because; I believe that’s what all healers were born to do as mortals here on earth and not simply here to offer quotes from nonsensical literature, whilst egocentrically massaging their own fragile ego.

I fervently believe that only those who have known such suffering can truly dip in and out of aquired learning as they guide a sufferer back into the light. That’s why I have nothing but utter contempt for those who hide behind nonsensical quotes whilst claiming to have their clients best interests at heart.

That’s why I always advise my clients to look deep into the soul of any mortal claiming that they can be of help, and thereafter only accept that support if their own higher self gives them the green light for go.

In the interim period ALL I would say to anyone who cares to read this simple little post is; stay well, stay safe and may your higher self always guide you with valour in all that you are as a mortal. Amen

Exploring Fluid Normality

Understand Where Disease Changes our Personality

No living man knows what mortality in all its normality truly is, until he has been either forced to endure and/or blessed to survive the absurdity and sheer intolerability of apparently irresolvable chronic ill heath.  For that is a place where no fellow man hears any heartfelt and/or desperate pleas for help, because in that place and in that space there is not an ounce or shred of humanistic decency.  It is a place where your body apparently delights in tormenting your very existence and a place where medics with sickening guile, spew their ignorant dogma to you and about you but offer absolutely no help, support or hope for the entirety of your passage through that place. 

Such is the depravity of that place and space that; release from mortality becomes an overriding preoccupation for anyone unfortunate enough to find themselves trapped within the same.  It is a place where the light refuses to shine with endless penchant, for it is eclipsed almost continually by the purgatory of mortality in and of simply monumental proportions.  So let’s be very clear here, let no man in your presence ever attempt to liken this place and space with the simplicity of any given minor mortal imposition, for true mortal suffering under whatever presentation it chooses to manifest itself, is not a club or requiring of any arm bands of unity or honour.

Mortal suffering is an unacceptable blight upon the reality of mortality which we must do our level best to eradicate if we do nothing else over the next 100 years, because whilst it may well be a natural dynamic of normal mortality.  Simply accepting mortal suffering in any way shape or form because it makes the lives of others much easier is both ethically and morally reprehensible. 

My personal experiences at the hands of the medical industry continue to generate grave reservations in me about the integrity, decency, credibility and morality of those engaged in medicine and that’s why I implore kindred souls to take great care when interacting with the same.  

You see; only those who have suffered at the hands of the medical industry and yet some how have also managed to survive their so called care’ are able to personally validate just how despicably poor, unsupportive and divisive that industry truly is.  It is an industry rotten to the core and lacking collaterally in any tangible intellect, integrity and decency across the board and that’s why I was forced to explore my own fluid mortality and therein document my chronic ill health resolution in my books.  

Because whilst I cannot right any wrongs committed to me by my fellow man, the truth of the matter is that as a mortal living amongst mortals’ social intercourse with our medical industry is almost certainly heading our way in any one of a hundred forms in the not to distant future.  So in that place it’s important as mere mortals that we take very good care of ourselves because if we don’t, the medical industry or should I say the vast majority of representation from that industry certainly won’t.

Now; the question I believe that you the reader will be more able to answer once you’ve read this book is; do I believe what any medic is saying to me now and/or about my presenting symptoms from this point forward. 

You see; the truth always presents itself in many differing forms, but it is the individual and/or collective psyche that decides prescriptively just how any truth is to be accepted and/or received moving forward.

Understanding Where Depression is the Result of Disease

Depression is real and what’s more it’s truly an insidious condition that invades and destroys every aspect of everything that we as mortals, should care to value.  It erodes our sense of self, our sense of hope; in fact it erodes the very essence of living a happy, fulfilled and productive life.

I know only too well the sheer hell that is; undiagnosed chronic illness including the heavy load it imposes upon our lives.  You see, I had an unqualified disease over a 30+ year period that pushed me into a state of chronic illness, fatigue and depression that was beyond belief, so dreadful and so black that the thought of release through death was my only yet constant companion. 

Today I often wonder just how it was that I was brave enough, strong enough and pragmatic enough to solve the mystery of that condition.  Whilst those charged with the responsibility of aiding and helping me, simply sat back on their ignorant behinds or placed the blame for my condition back onto me.  Unsurprising really when all things are considered, because the plain fact of the matter is that the medical industry by default, despite any and all protestations to the contrary, simply doesn’t understand chronic illness and simply doesn’t care about anyone in its care.  The result of which is that it is us as that industries employers, who inevitably suffer as a result of all its mortal failings, prejudices, scientific ignorance and underperformance on a global scale. 

To fully understand the sheer depths of suffering that I endured to acquire myself healing and self management knowledge you should perhaps read my foundation book Raphael’s Legacy published in 2008.  For in that book I cover many aspects of my own personal pursuit of well being as well as publicly denouncing the fraudulent myth’s and prejudices within our medical model that result in so much misdiagnosis and medical/clinical underperformance on a global scale.  However before we go any further together on this journey I need to make you clear about one very important point; you see, although I find myself writing this self help book.  Actually I have absolutely no medical qualifications and/or medical training; I do however have enough intellect and chronic illness expression experience to be eminently qualified enough to voice my opinions upon how to investigate, treat and remove from our lives what is an indiscriminately cancerous condition.  You see, chronic illness expression in the vast majority of instances does not originate from insanity or emotional instability despite; any and all claims by the medical/clinical industry that they are the only true generators of the chronic illness expression.

Because only bodily disease, bodily system and system process failure issues within your endocrine system and the resulting chronic inflammation can propagate, promote and /or generate symptoms of chronic illness expression which includes most forms of emotional and psychological depression.
