There is no Love in Ownership or Control

Interesting period I’m going through at the moment with lots and lots of new dog energy around me i.e. four people have introduced their new puppies to me in as many days.
Therein and as a journeyer I’m always happy to read the signs and this indicates to me that theres been a powerful shift in my own energetic frequency in recent weeks. A shift which is undoubtedly the result of the deep shamanic healing that I’ve been undertaking over many months.
Just so you know; in shamanic healing and power animal terms, dog energy brings with it the gifts of insight, devotion, generosity, protection, faithfulness and unconditional love. Through dog energy well learn to be aware of subtle changes.
However the real majesty in “dog energy” is understanding and accepting that we too must be willing to go forward without hesitation, for dog energy provides us with the opportunity to activate all our latent skills, encouraging us to put new plans into action.
As I say all very interesting and uplifting as well as joyous to meet; Bel, Rex, Solomon and Blue. As was the opportunity to also observe the psyche of ownership and control in one particularly challenging encounter with a puppies owner.
Journeying in Respect
One thing I never do when I meet any new puppy is compromise it’s fragile sense of identity and independence. The reason; well I choose to respect it’s right to live and learn within the boundaries of mutual consensus and free will as I see no love in control or ownership.
Some may struggle with this way of being and even fall into the trap of thinking that I don’t believe in conforming or discipline when it comes to fellow souls. Well the truth is I do believe that a happy and conducive existence requires some form of conformity and discipline.
However both must be tempered with both intellect and mutual respect. For without that all we have is a codependency which is completely out of balance. And where there is no balance, there can be only moral and spiritual ambiguity and therein very little if any, mutuality or harmony.
That being said and upon being introduced to a little puppy recently I greeted the puppy as I always do. At which point the owner said “pick him up”. My reply “I’m fine it’s all cool”. At which point the owner insisted “no pick him up, pick him up, look he loves it’s” and proceeded to lift the puppy up into her arms before thrusting him towards me.
I said “really it’s fine” to which she replied “omg I don’t believe it you’re frightened of him” and began throwing the little puppy up into the air screeching “wee, wee, Barry’s frightened of blue, Barry’s frightened of blue and continued with the nonsensical wee, wee, wee”. Whilst throwing the little puppy into the air, much to my personal consternation.
Now I could have wasted a lot of my energy trying to explain my view to that owner, but chose not to, accepting that it was probably a very pointless undertaking. Instead my heart broke for the little puppy, because all I could see was fear in innocence in the arms of a completely self obsessed muppet. A one way dynamic in which blue simply wasn’t considered.
A muppet who simply didn’t get me or indeed her responsibility towards another beautiful soul. So I simply stilled myself and thereafter created a bubble of protective energy which I gently wrapped around blue and why?
Well it was clear to me that it was all about her and her insatiable need to fill the empty voids of self love that exist deep within her. And as for blue, well he was simply a cuddly and cute short term fix, who was only there to make her feel better and as such his personal needs didn’t even need to be considered.
That being said; heaven only knows what will become of blue in the future, in particular and at the point, he’s no longer a cuddly, vulnerable and easily managed bundle of fluff anymore.
Given that to my knowledge that particular individual has a habit of self indulging in the short term puppy fix. And the sad thing is that there’s lots of those short term puppy fix merchants out there too. Which I find implicitly distasteful.
Now some may read this article and think blimey that guys a bit heavy and that’s fine everyones entitled to their view. Nevertheless I stand by my views and my view is that respect and understanding creates a much more coherent mutuality.
Simply because; only when we truly love ourselves, can we begin to truly love and learn from every soul that we meet along the way, for that is the real wisdom of Solomon. Indeed that ability and awareness to recognise and above all things understand and respect; every souls right to freewill whilst remaining always within their own glory.
For without that all we create is an overtly one sided reality, propagating nothing more than a living hell down here on planet earth for far to many earth bound souls. When what we should be doing is creating opportunities for all souls down here on planet earth to evolve and grow; into all they can be as a soul.
In essence a way of being that is mutually beneficial and hence win win, because that is the only route out of this karmic classroom that we all live in as mortals. Which not by chance is the only journey we can take to lead us through the process of ascension and ultimately perfection.
A process which consists of no if’s, no buts and certainly no procrastinating either, simply a commitment to walk across “the road of bones” in all it’s pain and glory. For that is the ultimate journey of; universal and personal self love. Amen
